Downloads
15A WebDAV client on a page of its own: your NAS, browsed in the app.
Your servers
A NAS, a seedbox, PikPak, Alist or OpenList, or a folder shared with vget serve.
How it worksFolders as a path
“Home NAS /Movies/2026”: each folder of the path is a step back.
Files or whole folders
Tick the files you want, or take a folder with everything in it.
Fast
Each file in 8 MB pieces over up to twelve connections, on HTTP/2 where the server offers it.
Goes on after a stop
A stopped download picks up where it stopped.
Patient with busy servers
A server that says it is busy is waited for, up to five minutes.
Straight to the viewer
Photos and videos open in the media viewer as they arrive.
Passwords encrypted
In FinchGram's own database, encrypted as a whole with its key in your login keychain; never in a plain file.
A folder per server
Downloads land in ~/Documents/FinchGram/webdav, a folder for each server, or in the folder you choose.
Room on the disk
A file that does not fit is refused before it starts, and one of unknown size stops before the disk is full.
Read-only
Nothing on the server is uploaded, renamed or deleted.
No Telegram account needed
The Downloads page opens before you sign in.
Clear finished
One button takes every finished download off the queue.
Your own certificates
A certificate you trust in Keychain Access is accepted, a self-signed one included.
A log for slow servers
downloads.log records each request, to find out why a server is slow.
AI assistants
11FinchGram is an MCP server: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and other apps can work with your Telegram through it, once you let them.
Off until you turn it on
Settings → AI access is the switch; while it is off, every assistant is turned away.
The chats you choose
Every chat except secret chats, or only the ones you pick.
What it may write
Messages sent at once under your name, drafts for you to send, or nothing.
Each app asks first
The first time an app connects, FinchGram asks you; the answer is kept for that app, across its updates.
Twelve tools
List, search and read chats and messages, see what is unread, fetch media, write drafts, send, delete your own messages, mark as read.
The toolsReading marks nothing
An assistant can read a chat without marking anything as read.
Never handed out
Secret chats, self-destructing media, and the media of chats that forbid saving.
A log
The AI access page lists what each assistant asked for.
Bound to your account
When another account signs in, every app has to be allowed again.
Ready to paste
The lines that add FinchGram to Claude Code or Claude Desktop are on the AI access page.
No AI of its own
FinchGram calls no AI and trains nothing; an assistant gets only what you let it read.
On your Mac
5Notifications, the Dock and the menu bar, the way Mac apps do them.
Notifications
New messages as macOS notifications, with or without their words and sounds.

The number of unread messages on the Dock icon.

FinchGram stays in the Dock, or quits, as you choose in Settings.
Menu bar icon
Open the window or quit from the menu bar; on by default.
Launch at login
FinchGram starts when you log in to your Mac.

Light and dark
Light, dark, or the system's; each theme keeps its own choice.

Updates and trust
10FinchGram keeps itself up to date, and installs nothing it cannot verify.
Updates itself
From GitHub Releases: checked once a day at a random time, or from Help → Check for Updates.
Verified before installing
Every release comes with SHA256SUMS and its Ed25519 signature; the app checks both.
Notarized by Apple
Signed with a Developer ID, the hardened runtime on, and notarized: a downloaded copy opens like any other app.
Encrypted on disk
FinchGram's own database and Telegram's are each encrypted as a whole, with a key of its own in your login keychain.
Built in the open
Releases are built only by GitHub Actions, from pinned sources.
Signed the same way every time
So macOS keeps your Screen Recording permission across updates.
Keeps to Telegram's rules
Read receipts, typing and online status work as in Telegram's apps, and channels show their sponsored messages.
Collects nothing
No analytics, no crash reports, no FinchGram server.
PrivacyHardened downloads
File names that would land outside the download folder are refused, and passwords never follow a redirect to another server.
Open source
GPL-3.0, in Rust and Slint, with Telegram's own TDLib running as a separate program.
